Pavilion Grille

By Arnold Leir
Infinitely Exciting and Delicious

Acurrent dance video on the internet takes place at the Imperial Palace in Vienna. The scenes of the dancers sweeping across the polished ballroom floor are breathtaking. But what the palace has in gold leaf and marble, Boca Raton’s Pavilion Grille has in sparkling fountains, lush tropical plants and glistening walls of glass. Standing in the Grille’s four story atrium, I felt as if I were in Imperial Vienna fast forward a few hundred years. Were he alive today, I think even the Emperor would be impressed.

Equally impressive is Chef Mark Ostermayer who brings together a series of signature dishes that are sure to please. Crisp Artichoke Hearts ($8) is a stellar creation featuring six succulent hearts bound by a wafer thin Parmesan tinged batter that is unbelievingly crunchy and flavorful. The Seared Ahi Tuna ($17) delivers all the natural essence of the gently seared filet partnered with a side of delectable seaweed salad.

Enticing mains include various cuts of beef, chicken, and fish. Sweet and Sour Chicken ($17) is a masterful combination of sautéed filets and vegetables energized by a to-die-for semi sweet sauce. The entire ensemble is tossed over savory rice to create a sensational symphony of flavors. Another triumph is the Mahi Oreganata ($25) sautéed to a gentle crispness and topped with a delectable French tomato bruschette. A side of seasoned rice and a medley of fresh vegetables made the perfect partners. Specialties include Crab Bisque, Crab Cakes and Churrasco Steak.

Garner the most from this exquisite cuisine by selecting a wine from the carefully crafted wine menu. The buoyant Francis Coppola Merlot ($9/ glass) is just one in an outstanding selection of domestic and international vintages. If you need guidance, the accommodating and courteous staff is always on hand to help.

Before you make your move to the dance floor, order the Chocolate Cake and/or the multi-layered Chocolate Mousse Cake as well one of the many coffee specials. You can order also from two fully provisioned bars that are available to accommodate any request. From 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday thru Friday, Happy Hour is available featuring specially priced drinks and a $6 bar menu.

October is the occasion for three Halloween parties each offering prizes for the best costumes. The three dates are Wednesday, October 30, Thursday. October 31 (Halloween) and Friday, November 1. Different music and dance styles are scheduled on specific days during the week. Before making your visit, call the Pavilion Grille to confirm the program for the days you wish to attend In addition to t h e w e e k l y entertainment, the Grille provides a fabulous setting for special events such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, anniversaries and any other personal celebration for parties of almost any size. Also a great place for singles. If your company is planning meetings, workshops or any other important gathering, the stunning atrium will impress your staff and/or your clients.
