Brooklyn´s Original Pizza

Exquisite Italian Cuisine, Expertly Delivered

By Arnold Leir

If you are in the mood for some fabulous Italian dishes and equally delectable gourmet pizza, Delray´s Brooklyn´s Original Pizza is definitely your destination. Located in the Wal-Mart Shopping Center south of Linton Boulevard and on the east side of Federal Highway, Arthur Sargsyan´s kitchen is an exciting source of incomparable creations.

The interior features an open design displaying a cross section of signature pies available by the slice. A montage of famous celebrities energizes the entire space which has clusters of spacious booths located alongside and in front of the main counter..

The highly innovative menu features many favorites at affordable prices. You can get any number of superb pasta dishes (Alfredo, Putanesca, Carbonara, etc) for $12.99, which includes salad and bread. Baked dishes, such as Meat lasagna and Eggplant Parmigiana are similarly priced.

From the starters, the Meatball ($7.99) is a perfectly balance blend of ingredients and seasonings bathed by an utterly luxurious tomato sauce. It is perfect for dunking the savory Garlic Rolls ($2.99/$3.99) crafted with the same expertise used to create the crust of the signature pizzas.

Each of the eight salad variations offer refined flavor combinations. Our Greek Salad ($8.99) arrived in a stunning ceramic bowl overflowing with a base of Romaine lettuce topped with an enticing mixture of green, black and kalamata olives tossed with red onions, ripe tomatoes and pepperoncini. A fragrant mantle of superb feta cheese gave this splendid arrangement its final touch of elegance.

When it comes to pizza, Chef Sargsyan´s inventiveness is boundless. Signature pies are everywhere on the menu, but, if you prefer, you can get cheese pizza ($9.99 to $16.99) and add your own toppings. (Gluten free is also available).

But why tinker when you can get an indisputable masterpiece like the Eggplant Pamigiana Pizza ($14.99). A supremely crisp crust is dotted with scoops of creamy ricotta overlaid with a dynamic red sauce and partnered with savory eggplant and fresh mozzarella. It took a great deal of restraint not to consume every morsel since we had yet to delve into the next triumph.

Chicken Cacciatore comes in many shades of scrumptious, but none can compare to the Chef´s exquisite version ($15) overflowing with tender cuts of filet, mushrooms, onions and a sauce so appealing that we savored the last drop long after the last strand of pasta was gone, Chef Sargsyan is a gracious host and, like his staff, ever attentive to his customers´ needs. Take out, pick up and catering services are available upon request. To learn more about this fabulous restaurant, log onto brooklynsoriginal.com
