About Mary Jo... Mary Jo received her BSN in nursing from the University of Michigan, and her Master of Public Health from Saint Louis University. She has taught kazillions of health classes to various organizations, including her popular: “Aging with Pizzazz: Seasoned Citizens Making a Difference.” For her 50th birthday, she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and for 60, dragged her husband into the Sahara, camping with Tuareg tribesmen in Timbuktu. He’s relieved that her plans for 70 merely involve driving a zamboni and maybe a tattoo. Mary Jo has done free-lance medical or travel writing for publications that include the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Ladue News, CBSHealthWatch by Medscape.com, and Endless Vacation. Her first book, Old Love: Lessons Learned along the Way, explores the humor and highs possible in a long-term marriage. Mary Jo currently writes medical Top Stories for Washington University School of Medicine, and serves as medical editor and writer for the new St. Louis magazine: Town&Style.
