With the internet becoming a super highway for knowledge and Do It Yourself, are job seekers submitting their resume without actually having the skill set for the job? Recently I had an opening for an Automotive Technician.
I interviewed several individuals and was surprised by one applicant whose resume seemed a bit incomplete. The company chooses to interview all those who apply in order to offer a fair opportunity for all.
During the interview, I asked questions pertaining to the skills that are needed for the position in question. The first question was can you rebuild a hydraulic pump? Answer, no, but I’m sure I can YouTube it to figure it out.
