The Future for Recycling Lithium-Ion Batteries

By Teresa Aquila
The question has always come up about how to dispose of Electrical Vehicle batteries. Well, the question is answered. The company Redwood Materials has been in business for a few years, housed in Carson City, Nevada, and run by a formal Tesla employee, executive J. B. Straubel, who stepped away from Tesla in 2019 to further the future of Redwood Materials.

The company is growing and now expanding into the recycling of solar panels. Adding a new location just a few miles from Tesla’s Nevada Gigafactory, Redwood also inked a deal with the Panasonic battery plant right next door to Tesla to recycle their battery waste. Amazon has also signed on with Redwood Materials to recycle their lithium-ion batteries, making the environment cleaner.
