South Florida Prepares for Plant-Based Fun as VegFest Returns

By Suki Eleuterio

Veggie lovers of South Florida unite! For the second year in a row, South Florida VegFest will return to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, December 2nd at the War Memorial Auditorium on Federal Highway. The event runs from 12 to 6 p.m. and tickets are available online. Children under 12 enter the festival for free. Produced by VegFest Expos, VegFest is a dairy-free, meatless food festival that showcases plant-based cuisine and cruelty-free products that are part of a vegan lifestyle. With over 120 vendors, delicious plant-based food trucks, esteemed speakers and more, VegFest is all about bringing the community together in celebration of healthy, environmentally-friendly, and social conscious living. The indoor festival will include cruelty-free vegan food samples to include sushi, NYC hot dogs, meatless balls, burgers, exotic fruits and veggies, and some decadent deserts. Organized by Kyle Michaud, entrepreneur and sustainability activist, the mission of VegFest is to educate as many families and individuals as possible of the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle. But VegFest is not just open for vegans or vegetarians; everyone should give the plant-based festival a try! “We want everyone to feel welcome here,” says Michaud. “We are trying to get people to be inspired to try something new. We don’t just invite vegans, we invite everybody.”
