Fabulous Gourmet Delicacies on Every Menu Page

With the fiery afternoon sun streaming through the floor to ceiling windows, the elegantly designed interior of Delray Beach’s Bagel Tree glows with an intense light that radiates throughout the dining room. The hypnotic effect is intensified by spectacular angular mirrors that reflect the sparkling wooden floors and a striking granite wall. Contemporary furniture and an abundance of glamorous graphics define a sleek, serene, sophisticated ambience.

 

The supreme standards the kitchen sets are brilliantly exemplified in a sixteen page menu, half devoted to breakfast, the other half to lunch, It is a testament to talents of chef/owners Manuel Torres, Juan de la Torre and Miguel Jimenez who have operated this family owned business for the past two years.

The restaurant and the cuisine are all about style: the immense variety, the presentation of each selection, the impeccable service. For dinner, a large menu lists Greek favorites ranging from appetizers to entrees. On the reverse side, the chefs offer complete dinners featuring an assortment of fish, poultry and meat entrees, many prepared in the kosher style.

We opened with the captivating Spinach Pie crafted with layers of ethereal phylo harboring a blend of minced spinach, feta and spices. An order of vibrant, creamy Tzatziki with wedges of warm pita was the perfect partner for this opening act. Every nibble of this dazzling combo definitely assured us we were in the presence of remarkable talents.

We transitioned to the mains with the beautifully plated Greek Salad with its abundance fresh veggies and aromatic feta enlivened with vibrant vinaigrette, kalamata olives and stuffed grape leaves. The prodigious Greek styled Lamb Shank recumbent on a bed of scrumptious orzo is a winner which strikes the perfect balance between sweet and savory. Every morsel was tender and utterly flavorful.

If you are passionate about fresh fish, the Flounder, broiled to our specifications, is the way to go. The sumptuous filet arrived with a golden hue, delicately seasoned and hit all the right notes. Our choice of sides included a cluster of crisp broccoli and an adroitly baked sweet potato. Everyone agreed the flavors, textures and the presentation were supremely sensational.

For a perfect ending, order a slice of one of the chefs’ fabulous homemade pies. Our serving of the crisp, flaky, divinely constructed apple pie will definitely inspire you to order a second portion.
