With New Technologies… We’re Growing by Leaps and Bounds Insights from Kona Wilkinson

By Liz Sterling

For the last few months, artificial intelligence (AI) has come to the forefront of the media and is showing up in everyday life. A user-friendly program called ChatGPT, created by OpenAI, has found its way into schools, businesses and web development, and it’s becoming a big trend. I did not use ChatGPT to write this article, but I do believe we are seeing the beginning of a whole new world, with many applications and uses. The pros and cons are yet to be determined… Suffice to say, you can invest your time researching what’s happening in this field and then you can choose to like it, use it or leave it.

The reason I am starting this feature story with AI is that it parallels another field that is growing by leaps and bounds. This is the world of energy medicine and wellness, and it’s thousands of years old, based on ancient healing wisdom, and now growing by incorporating new technology too.

Our story today is about Kona Wilkinson, who grew up in California and Hawaii. She was inspired by her great grandfather, an intuitive chiropractor in the early days of chiropractic care. The name Kona is the Hawaiian translation of her birth name, Donna. Upon embracing her mission as a healer, she returned to her roots and reclaimed the name Kona.

This amazing and powerful woman had a 17-year career with the D.C. Divas American football team in Washington D.C. wearing #33. She played with phenomenal teammates, winning three national championships in D.C. and two Gold Medals with the USA Football Women’s National Team. She was nicknamed “The Animal,” and was an All-Star at three different positions. She was also inducted into the Women’s Football Hall of Fame and D.C. Divas Hall of Fame upon her retirement.

Her success came at a cost, having sustained numerous injuries which included 10 concussions, multiple sprained ankles, broken, torn and dislocated fingers, a torn labrum in her shoulder, torn ACL, MCL and PCL in her knee, a serious neck injury that caused her arm and hand to go numb, a broken back, and undergoing three knee surgeries, finger surgery and occipital neuralgia surgery.

That’s a high price to pay for playing a sport, but Kona was exceptional during her career – mostly because she began a journey into energy healing and alternative modalities to improve her performance and recovery.

It opened her up to a world of energy-based methods that changed her life. She literally become one of the most prolific players in women’s football history, and is known by many as the “ageless one,” because she performed at such a high level, and had longevity in football into her 40s.

The names of some of these energy healing modalities may sound unfamiliar or highly technical, but they all serve to help people learn and heal on a higher level. As Kona explained, “Energy medicine refers to frequencies, magnetic and far infrared technologies, structured/living water, whole food nutrition, cellular detox, light therapy, ARPwave neuro re-education, performance mindset training, playing in The Zone, mind/body/spirit integration, consciousness exploration and expansion, and redox signaling – a quantum cellular technology for shifting the aging paradigm.”

Kona began using these energy-based modalities in 2001 when she started her football career, and has continued to expand her experience, knowledge and training in the world of energy wellness for over 21 years. She is a living testament to the fact that her wellness practices work! She has been dedicated to becoming free of discomfort from her football injuries, especially residual pain from the dramatic concussions she endured throughout her career.

“I embody health, vitality and longevity. I’m living my life’s mission to build a bridge to the new Earth, and bring leading-edge health technologies to the people who resonate with them. I needed to go beyond covering up symptoms, and find ways to heal faster, perform better and develop longevity in the sport – and to have longevity now and for the future.”

Kona is blessed to be in an environment that supports her wellness journey. She told me that working at Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, eating live vibrant foods, doing hot tub and cold plunge therapy daily, and using advanced technology such as the ARPwave (an accelerated recovery performance technology that uses direct electrical current to correct imbalance from injury and pain, as a form of neuromuscular re-education), is keeping her young and vital.

She is passionate about energy wellness, longevity and pain management, and speaks about these and other technologies at Hippocrates on Monday evenings.

“There is a quantum field that is part of healing for everyone, and we know this now,” Kona stated emphatically in our conversation. “Everything in the universe is energy and vibration. Everything is coming to us through frequencies, and the frequencies carry information. This information instructs the body, and when you break it down to the smallest unit, it is vibration.”

“Vibration comes with a couple of different things, including sound and light, which are the primary vibratory fields. This exists within all reality and exists within all our bodies. Additionally, we have different organ systems that operate in sound frequencies, and others that operate in light frequencies. Since everything is operating on frequency, everything – including thoughts – operate on this frequency.”

To which I replied, “Yikes, Wow!”

Kona clarified, “Your body can feel different emotions and thoughts, and they can be stored in different areas of your body, and sound and light can re-educate your body to fire and restore the natural vibratory frequency for healing.”

I asked Kona to offer our readers some examples of light and sound healing that don’t require technology. “Having an experience of vibration is available to everyone, all the time,” Kona explained. “The easiest way is through the emotion. Do something that feels like joy and see how that feels in your body. Then sense the vibration in your body and see how you feel. You could test it further by thinking about something negative which would put you in a denser state, but I don’t advocate that. For purposes of using frequencies, the higher the vibration you are feeling, the more light you are accessing, the more information light carries, and the higher vibrations can start to match the universal energy, and the closer you may feel to Source.”

How to Use Sound, Light and Food For Vibrational Health at Home

Next, Kona offered some practical wisdom we can all use: “Every sound matters, and everything that hits your body has an effect on a deep energetic and cellular level. Putting beautiful harmonizing sounds in your environment – ones that resonate and make you feel good when you listen to those sounds – is good for you. For example, it can be as simple as positive, high vibrational music. Using sunlight to get into your body will help you absorb photons. The early morning sun or late afternoon sun is very good for you. Don’t cover up or put on sunglasses or long sleeve shirts for this. You want a little sunlight to soak in. You can also vibrate in with food to match your state of consciousness by eating living and energetic foods. Instead of considering carbs or fats, or the protein standpoint, look at what energy are you getting. Is it raw food that is living, or cooked food that is diminishing some of that energy? Is the meat going to be raised with love and in a kind fashion, so you are not bringing the density of fear into your body?”

Kona continued by sharing her personal choices. “I eat completely vegan and put high vibrational foods in my body every day. I use more dense food to balance out my body. I find that right balance between raw and cooked. I work at Hippocrates, so I get the best sprouts and best greens every day, so I can vibrate the food for my high vibration physically and consciously.”

We discussed a few more protocols that are widely in use now: far infrared technologies, and cold and hot plunging. “The plunging,” Kona explained, “gives you great benefits. In cold water, the blood is leaving your extremities and going to the core of your body, and then you go into the hot and it’s pulling the blood back out to the extremities, and it’s activating your body’s circulation and lymph system. There are near, middle and far infrared saunas and they operate at different wavelengths. They start vibrating the cells in your body and release toxins. I sleep with a comforter that reflects [the different wavelengths] back to my body. Nikken International, out of Japan, has magnetic technology, tourmaline technology and infrared technology that work on many different systems of the body.”

By now, I’m hoping you have been activated to learn more to generate greater wellness in your life. My goal was to help you begin investigating new opportunities that are helping us grow, learn and heal by leaps and bounds! Spring has Sprung

– Happy April, friends.
