Six Innovative Impacts of Be an Animal Hero in 2025

By Susan Hargreaves Author-Activist-Educator of BEanAnimalHero.org

Are you ready for some good news yet?

I think we all are. In 2025, our education and activation charity, Be an Animal Hero, has caused remarkable ripples of change. There have been five points of impact, and a few firsts too.

1. Thousands of St Patrick’s Day Parade viewers were treated to the truly green message “Go Vegan,” thanks to the Veganza Animal Heroes and River the Cow, wowing the crowd and giving out free vegan goodies with the Veganza Vanza.

A first!

2. The heartwarming story of Lovey, who was adopted by the founder of Animal Hero Kids at Palm Beach County Animal Control was broadcast on NPR radio station WLRN, which has a listenership of 500,000. The tale of the 23-year-old vegan dog resonated. So many listeners had never even heard of the phrase “vegan dog.”

3. The Veganza Animal Heroes flew to Denver, Colorado, for the first collaboration with a sanctuary, Luvin Arms, and read some of the Veganza stories to the rescued residents for social media videos, and presented two school assemblies at a performing arts school in Denver.

4. We celebrated the closing down of the Miami Seaquarium after 70 years of keeping animals’ captive. The New York Times quoted me as saying ‘’Today is another nail in the coffin of the animal prison industry,” and the celebration was featured in the Miami Herald, and many major news outlets, nationally and internationally.

5. Veganza flew to Toronto and pitched the V-Cop Conference attendees for an animated series, and won!

6. After returning home, Freedom and Veganza gave out 80 free vegan roasts for Thanksgiving.
