Deeply embedded in the nature of every being that exists or has ever existed is the desire to be free. From an insect trapped in a jar to a caged tiger, every man, animal, and even insect is driven to seek out, experience, and express ever-greater states of freedom. The freedom to be happy, to choose our companions, to come and go as we please, to follow our dreams and pursue our passions, to become whatever and whoever we choose to be – the freedom to identify, look, dress, and express ourselves in any manner that suits us.
While freedom is our greatest and most cherished possession, it is often like youth, health, and the very air we breathe – unnoticed and unappreciated until it is lost. Though there have always been, and will always be, corrupt governments, unscrupulous dictators, and even conditional so-called mates or family members who seek to diminish us and strip away our freedom and self-worth, we are the ones most often responsible for imprisoning ourselves.
By allowing the heavy chains of self-loathing, guilt, fear, insecurities, or even illness to drag us down, we create our own confinement, and limit ourselves to an unfulfilling and unhappy existence.
Yet freedom is Soul´s birthright. We are eagles - but instead of soaring the heavens as our divine nature intends, many succumb to the downward drag, content to scratch the dirt like pigeons for crumbs. Real freedom begins with identifying ourselves not with what reflects back at us in the mirror, and not with what others project onto us, but with that spiritual gold which lies within: our true selves - Soul. When we identify ourselves, and others, as Soul, we find true freedom, for in the eyes of the Creator there is nothing greater that can be added or taken away. Soul, like the Creator from which It is drawn, is boundless, limitless, and connected to an endless cascading fountain of divine love.
If we don´t like who we have become or where we are, then inwardly decide to change our reality. Through creative imagination, gratitude, constructive thoughts and attitudes, and positive choices and actions, our lives will have no choice but to transform into the conditions and beings we desire to be. It won´t happen overnight, but if we believe it is possible - if we work hard and follow the guidance offered toward our new goal of transformation - it will surely come to be. Fly high and be free, for anything is possible, for we are Soul - love in motion, divine expressions of absolute freedom, eternal beings of light and sound who cannot be suppressed or contained.
