We are each on a timeless journey to learn how to be as wise as a newborn child, and as loving as their attentive mother. If their bond remains strong, the child will flourish. But without the necessary nurturing, over time, their connection will diminish, and the child’s heart will grow cold and harden.
And so it is with Soul, except the child is never withheld the mother’s unconditional love. For like the loving mother, the Creator’s love for each of us is endless and unconditional, and the connective bond between us is unbreakable. Yet many, through misconception, feel abandoned, disconnected, lonely, unworthy and hopeless.
As the newborn does not need to earn the mother’s love, Soul does not have to earn God’s love. We do not have to change ourselves, bend the knee, or become anything other than what and who we are in this moment to receive God’s love. For all that the Creator has to give has already been given. As Its children, all that is required to receive Its divine bounty is an open heart and the acceptance that, in the Creator’s eyes, we have always been – and will always be – worthy.
Older, wiser Souls who have served their time lashed to the wheel have learned that Love is all that is real. Each hardship endured, each joyous moment relished, is but a reflection of our own emanations – gifts returned to serve in our spiritual awakening from our malaise, from our inability to recognize our true, permanent Selves, and to recognize the permanent Self in others. For it is in this recognition that Soul will freely choose to take its rightful place as a divine instrument and co-worker in the grand play of the upliftment of life.
Knowledge and wisdom are not one and the same. Intelligence, title, wealth and power are not prerequisites to living joyously.
The wise never scatter their energies by chasing coins, resisting, collecting useless things, or unnecessarily complicating their lives. In contrast, by living gracefully in the present moment, the wise create lives of simplicity, contentment and peace.
