Boca man Provides Seniors with Extra Income and Independence Living in Own Homes

By Staff Writer

When Jim Hansen owner of Seniors, Helping Seniors saw the opportunity to help seniors help other seniors, he knew he found his calling in life. Jim took care of his own grandmother until she was 96. “I learned first-hand that one individual is all it takes to help another remain independent in their own home” says Jim Hansen.” I also learned that when Gram was put in a nursing home she only lasted a short time, she wanted to be in her home”, Hansen added.

Jim Hansen, originally from Connecticut and now a committed community member in Boca Raton, has opened the Seniors Helping Seniors® franchise to serve residents in Boca and neighboring areas, including Delray and South Palm Beach County. Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services, headquartered in Wyomissing, Pa., has opened more than 250 franchises in 42 states since 1998 following a unique, peer-to-peer business model that provides seniors with “a way to give and to receive®” by hiring seniors to provide non-medical services to other seniors.

“The demand for this service is rapidly growing as our population continues to age,” Seniors Helping Seniors co-founder Kiran Yocom said. “We accepted Jim Hansen into our family of franchise owners because he truly understands the needs of this population – not only on a professional level, but also on a personal level Non-medical services provided may include, but are not limited to, companionship, meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation, pet therapy, home maintenance, light yard work, Alzheimer’s and relief to family members who are doing it all by themselves.

We take time and effort to find the right person we have helping our seniors. All of our seniors are bonded and insured. We are of course licensed by the state of Florida. Give us a call; we will take care of you as if your family. Call 561-392-4846
