Aston Kutcher does Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1997 he not ascribe to the was a biochemical engineering old cliché that good student at the University of Iowa, things come to those working at General Mills who wait. He believes that, “Good things come to those who want something so bad they can’t sit still.” And this Hollywood A-lister goes after what he wants – and gets it. “I’ll probably never be the best actor sweeping Cheerio dust from the floor in for $12 an hour. But everything changed in ’77 when he won the Fresh Faces of Iowa modeling contest sparking a international career. He relocated to Los Angeles and auditioned in Hollywood, he reflects for a role at NBC but knew he momentarily, but I hope to be the hardest working. Success has helped me to believe in myself a little bit more. If I really want something, I realize I can didn’t land it. As he was leaving, an executive asked him to read for a new NBC pilot called Wind on Water. “I went and did a cold reading of the character and have it and now know… found out I had gotten the job but anything is possible.”
Kutcher is mostly of Irish American descent with a little Native American and Bohemian thrown into the mix. He was born on February 7, 1978, Happy Birthday, Ashton, in told them I had to read the script first and after reading it, decided I did not want to be a cowboy surfer. My agent had told me about a series called “Teenage Wasteland” (later renamed That ‘70s Show) and I went in to read and told them I had to know if I had gotten the role by 3:45 that afternoon. I was supposed to tell NBC if I wanted the role on Wind on Water by 4:00 p.m. Luckily, I got the role on the show and was with it from 1998 - 2006 “.
Kutcher has become tamer over the years, having earned the reputation of being a party boy. Early stints in high school and college have given way to a more mature attitude. “I say whatever I think and whatever is on my mind, and I just hope that it comes out good. I’ve been realizing the responsibility that I have as a person and that my actions count and I can make a difference with my actions. And that my problems are pretty petty compared to the problems of the world and that just by being aware of the chaos that exists I can actually make a difference and do something really good with all of this as opposed to making it all about me and doing it for myself.” His marriage to Demi Moore in 2005 has been wonderful and he has developed a good relationship with her daughters who call Ashton, MOD (my other Dad).
Ashton has starred in television and the silver screen and now enjoys producing. On February 12, 2010, Valentine’s Day will be released nationwide and Kutcher stars with Jessica Alba ,Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Shirley MacLaine, Topher Grace and a dozen more well known celebs. He also starred with Michelle Pfeiffer in Personal Effects, What Happens in Vegas with Cameron Diaz ,Bobby with Harry Belafonte, Sharon Stone, Emilio Estevez and Laurence Fishburne, Open Season, The Guardian, A Lot Like Love, The Butterfly Effect, Cheaper by the Dozen and the list goes on. “The Butterfly Effect,” Kutcher says, “was a fantastic metaphor for life, and pretty enlightening. I had the opportunity to play a character that’s blind to the trauma that takes place in his life. We do tend to just block out the things in society that are bad, and whether it be through our media or whatever, we go, “Oh, it’s not happening in my world, so it’s not happening.”
Well, as we all know, there is a lot happening in our world and it is important for each of us to keep our eyes open, our minds clear and our hearts….it’s February, the month of love so here’s to our hearts being filled with love! Happy Valentine’s Day.
