Lovey, the apple of my eye, rescued poodley canine and I are gearing up for 2019 celebrations. I am chilling the bubbly (for me) and

Lovey‘s drinking treat is Silk creamer in a teacup. What would a New Year be without a prediction? So, here is mine.

My Number One 2019 Prediction

It really will be the most vegan year yet, ever, in the history of human evolution. I can back up this prediction with just the facts, ma’am… 1. A 600 percent increase in people choosing to be vegan in the United States has occurred in the last three years.

2. “Vegan food near me “is one of the most searched topics on Google.

3. Tyson Foods, the largest commercial animal seller in the United States, announced its launch of a 150 million dollar venture capital fund to support the development of plant-based meats. Bill Gates and Leonardo DiCaprio also invested heavily in Beyond Meat, a plant-based protein.

4. Plant milk choices are at an alltime high, and one of the dairy companies that was a household name, Elmhurst, stopped using cows and now sells hazelnut, walnut, cashew and oat-based milks - I highly recommend the hazelnut milk for mocha smoothies.

5. Millennial consumers are choosing vegan products, and meal, restaurant and food producers are following the money trail, say food market analysts. A global market research firm, Mintel, say 80% of millennials regularly eat vegan meat.

6. The United States market for plantbased product options replacing meat and dairy totaled more than 3.7 billion dollars last year.

7. Forbes Magazine articles reflect the growing trends and advise turning your business vegan to stay current. My Resolution for 2019 is to be even more focused to achieve a more compassionate reality for all animals by educating and empowering youth and kind, thoughtful choices. If you wish to make a New Year’s resolution to help animals, the planet and your own health, then try vegan this year. If you have any questions you can always reach me at animalherokids.org

A New Years’ after-dinner libation I just created.

Mocha Bailey Blitz

Almond Baileys - fill an old fashioned champagne glass half full. Silk Nog - 1/4 of the rest of the glass Fill the rest with crushed ice. Garnish with shaved dark chocolate and powdered pumpkin spice. Nonalcoholic version would be 3/4 glass full of Silk Nog and the rest your nondairy milk of choice.
