Electric vehicles are
advancing in the automotive industry. In the state of California, 15
percent of cars are electric. The race is on to see who will cross the
finish line as the best model EV on the market, and the first state to
reduce emissions by embracing them.
The one thing EV makers have discovered is that the AM radio frequency interferes with the vehicles’ systems, creating static and hum on the FM channel. Electric vehicles create more electromagnetic interference than their gas-powered counterparts.
Due to this discovery, several EV manufactures have eliminated the AM radio feature in their vehicles. With 974 minutes monthly of radio listening time per listener, and 82 percent of adults tuning in, removing the AM channel may have listeners tuning in on their smart phones.
There are alternatives – don’t fret. Happy Motoring.
